Bikers have been urged to ensure their tyre pressure gauges read accurately, so as to reduce the risk of going onto the roads with inadequate tyre pressure.
Avon tyres have said in a press release that checking tyre pressure gauges on a motorbike or any vehicle should be a priority as we go into the bank holiday weekend. The company’s motorcycle tyres technical product manager stated that gauges provided by fuel forecourts have been found to inaccurate by several pounds per square inch.
Keeping on top of an accurate tyre pressure can ensure other areas of the motorbike in need of repair are reduced. Under-pressure tyres can affect steering and lead to uneven tyre wear.
